Soaring Chatham Albatross at The Pyramid

Today, we arrived at The Pyramid, a small island south of Pitt Island in the Chatham Islands group. The Pyramid is an impressive volcanic rock that holds the entire breeding population of the beautiful Chatham Albatross. Cruising in Heritage Adventurer, we enjoyed a fabulous circumnavigation in excellent conditions, teeming with wildlife. Afterwards, we headed to the spectacular pitted rock formations and lush green slopes of Southeast Island/Rangatira for Zodiac cruising.

In the afternoon, we arrived near Mangere and Little Mangere Islands, where we learned of the conservation success story involving the Black Robin.
