Discoveries on the Remote Paradise of Tsoilik Island

Our Discover the Secrets of Melanesia expedition saw Heritage Adventurer sailing to the remote beauty of Tsoilik Island, nestled within the New Ireland archipelago in the New Hanover District of Papua New Guinea. The island's allure of pristine sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters make it a perfect stop on our voyage.

Upon arrival, we were welcomed by a captivating scene - appropriately named Chocolate Chip Sea Stars graced the sandy sea floor and were complemented by the soothing sounds of coconut trees and a local band playing traditional tunes.

Our adventures on Tsoilik Island spanned a diverse range of activities from nature walks, kayaking, and birdwatching to swimming, outrigger canoeing, and weaving baskets with the friendly locals. The adventurous among us ventured into the vibrant underwater world, drift snorkelling along the outer reef edge viewing coral bommies, Pipefish, Nudibranchs, and Anemone Fish. The day concluded with a spectacular sail through the narrow passage that separates New Hanover from New Ireland, leaving us with indelible memories of this remote paradise.
