Doubtful and Dusky Delights

Heritage Explorer, Southern Fiords, A.Russ

As we descended down the snow-clad Wilmot Pass we enjoyed our first views of Heritage Explorer/our home for the week. Welcomed aboard by the friendly crew we immediately felt at home as we settled into our cabins. After a briefing from our Captain Jim, we explored the comforts of our luxurious expedition yacht as we readied ourselves for a transit to Dusky Sound to get in front of an approaching storm. The trip out of Doubtful was stunning, with snow dusting the tops of the surrounding mountains and waterfalls all around. We enjoyed our first dinner together inside the comforts of the fiord, before heading out into a rather lumpy sea sailing towards our anchorage for the night - quiet cove in Breaksea Sound.
