Setting Sail for the Chatham Islands

Spirit of Enderby, Bluff bound for Chathams
A cold foggy morning in Bluff gave way to brilliant sunshine by the time we climbed the gangway to board Spirit of Enderby and begin our Chatham Islands - A Land Apart voyage.

It's great to see so many familiar faces on board with a large contingent of returning guests, including one special guest who was aboard Spirit of Enderby's first ever voyage with Heritage Expeditions!

Sailing towards the Antipodes Islands on a beautiful calm sea, there's clusters of guests on the back deck with guides Mike and Matt learning how to identify albatross, shearwaters and petrels, while others are lounging in sunny corners of most decks chatting, or simply enjoying watching the sea go by.

Pods of Dusky Dolphins have paid us brief visits riding the bow-wave, surfing the wake and occasionally leaping clear of the water, all making for a wonderful start to our voyage.
