Exploring Tyuleniy Island
One of the jewels in the crown of the Sea of Okhotsk, little known Tyuleniy Island is also a biodiversity hotspot with around 3,000 Steller Sea Lions, almost 100,000 Northern Fur Seals and some 300,000 pelagic birds calling it home during the summer months.
Greeted by light fog and sunshine on our arrival, guests enjoyed a Zodiac cruise along the island's coast before some of the more energetic headed ashore for a closer look on foot exploring this rugged landscape including the largest rookery of Steller Sea Lions in the North-west Pacific.
With everyone now back on board Spirit of Enderby we are steaming along the eastern coast of Sakhalin Island.
