Adventures in Dusky Sound
At the break of dawn this morning Heritage Explorer departed from Chalky Inlet and set course for Dusky Sound, overnight snow had fallen on the mountains and between the showers the mountains were illuminated with their beautiful mantle of white.
Our navigation northwards was accompanied by the Buller's Albatross who kept a careful watch on our progress through the waves all the way to our anchorage at Pigeon Island. We paid homage to Richard Henry and his pioneering conservation efforts as well as revelling in the success of the more recent efforts as Yellowhead and Robins crossed our path through the forest.
After lunch those that wanted to hiked into the forests of Anchor Island while others enjoyed a Zodiac cruise through the aptly named Many Islands.
