Unseen Stewart Island: Pristine Wilderness and Wildlife Adventure

“An adventure of a lifetime!”

“After many years dreaming about visiting Stewart Island, especially getting down to Port Pegasus, I finally made it! Jane & our son Simon, found our trip all we could have possibly hoped for. We were lucky to have struck ideal weather, with more sunshine than rain, and a programme that had us out twice a day. The climb up Bald Cone was the highlight for me. The team that looked after us were wonderful, couldn't have asked for a nicer crew. They were informative, caring and we were catered for with top- end cuisine, that I have to say, I'm certainly not accustomed to. Our daily routine took us from our comfortable cabin, to the dining room, and then out on the zodiacs for a cruise and walk in a pristine environment. The primary forests and empty beaches will live in my memory for ever. Our visit was at the right time to see the Southern Rata in bloom and we were pleased to see Sea Lions on nearly every beach we passed, bird life was another wonderful feature. Simon had the additional adventure of observing Sevengill Shark and a large octopus. Jane and I were happy to stay on board and share his adventure that evening in the bar with the other adventurers. We are reliving our adventure through our photographs, it certainly was an adventure of a lifetime!”
