Last Blog of this Expedition
I write this as we sail back to Anadyr, tomorrow (Monday) is the final day of this expedition. The last 2 days have been very busy with some intensive (reasonably successful) whale watching in the Chukchi Sea, a visit to one of Russia’s most remote Border Guard Posts on Ratmanova Island in the Bering Strait, where we were able to Zodiac cruise some impressive bird cliffs with thousands of puffins. Yesterday with a little bit of time to spare we explored the tundra and mountains in and around Severnaya Strait. This afternoon we will have our end of expedition formalities including an expedition recap and debrief followed by a sumptuous buffet dinner to celebrate what has truly been a remarkable expedition.
