Kamchatka Bears
01-07-2012This part of the Kamchatka coast has large numbers of bears, and over the last few days we have seen a total of 14 different animals. This morning we took the Zodiacs up river into a large tidal lagoon surrounded by meadows and high snow capped peaks. The salmon will soon start running and the bears we saw were all grazing hillsides of lush spring growth while awaiting this annual feast.
