Anadyr Farewells

The Spirit of Enderby dropped anchor off Anadyr at 0700 this morning having sailed through the night from our last anchorage at Keyngypilgyn Lagoon. The weather today is overcast with passing light showers but at least the sea is calm.  A charter flight has taken some of the group to Nome in Alaska this afternoon while others remain aboard to wait for a scheduled flight to Moscow tomorrow. It was sad to farewell the Nome passengers when they disembarked this morning as the group has enjoyed some good camaraderie over the last two weeks and worked really well as a team.  The expedition staff and crew now have a few days of rest and relaxation before starting the first of three expeditions which will take us to Wrangel Island, the home of the Polar Bear.
